Patrick is a consultant and lawyer with over 18 years experience advising law firms and financial services organisations in Australia, the UK and Ireland.

Patrick is Managing Director of Lexcel law practice consultants. Lexcel provides consulting advice and assistance to law firms and incorporated legal practices on appropriate management systems, practice management, risk management, compliance and anti-money laundering.

Patrick is a solicitor on the respective Rolls in New South Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. He read law and completed a research degree on Directors’ Duties & Minority Shareholders’ Rights at Trinity College, Dublin. Later, he gained a MBA from the University of Ulster.

In private practice he specialised in litigation focusing on defendant insurance, professional indemnity and commercial litigation. After moving out of private practice, and prior to moving to Australia, Patrick advised law firms in the UK & Irish jurisdictions on risk & practice management, and anti-money laundering. He was a member of the team which wrote and presented the Hong Kong Law Society Compulsory Risk Management Education program. He has advised legal regulators on anti-money laundering and is part of the Australian Institute of Criminology Roundtable Group on the Risks of Money Laundering in the Professional Sectors.  Patrick is also on the Board of the Australasian Chapter of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.

Patrick is a regular speaker at conferences and legal CPD seminars. He also contributes articles for legal journals. Patrick sits on the Law Institute of Victoria’s Practice Support Committee.
